    Who was Paul Nash?

    Paul Nash, born 11 May 1889 in London, United Kingdom, died 11 July 1946 in Bournemouth, United Kingdom, was a British surrealist painter and war artist, as well as a photographer, writer, and designer of applied art. He continued to concentrate on landscape painting, initially in a formal, decorative style but, throughout the 1930s, in an increasingly abstract and surrealist manner. In his paintings, he often places everyday objects in a landscape to give them a new identity and symbolism.
