    Who was Gustav Klimt?

    Gustav Klimt , born July 14, 1862, died February 6, 1918 in Neubau in Vienna, is Austria's most famous and significant visual artist. He was early influenced by symbolism and is one of the most famous representatives of Art Nouveau in Vienna, also called Wiener Sezession. In addition to his passionate portraits of women, Klimt became popular for his successful landscape paintings.
