    Who was Winslow Homer?

    Winslow Homer , born February 24, 1836 in Boston, died September 29, 1910 at Prouts Neck in Scarborough, Maine, was an American painter, including illustrations and watercolors. Among other things, Homer painted landscapes, and is best known for views of the sea. He is considered one of the finest of the 19th century American painters.
