    Edward Theodore Compton , born 29 July 1849 London, died 22 March 1821 Germany. Edward was an English-German painter who made his name as an Alpine painter and in that capacity developed a great productivity, not least with his beautiful watercolours. He also painted some pictures with motifs from Norway and Italy and several other countries.
