    Alphonse Mucha (1860–1939) was a Czech artist known for his iconic Art Nouveau style, which was characterized by elegant lines, decorative details and sensual portraits of women. He created posters, paintings and illustrations that became symbolic of the Art Nouveau aesthetic and spread throughout Europe.
