    Who was Alexander Roslin?

    Alexander Roslin, born 15 July 1718 in Malmö Municipality, Sweden, died 5 July 1793 in Paris, France, was a Swedish painter. His style combined Classicist tendencies with the lustrous, shimmering colors of Rococo, a jocular, elegant, and ornate style. Roslin had great technical skill in painting the surfaces and texture of precious materials such as fabrics and jewels but was also adept at capturing his sitters at their best.

    Poster with the painting "The Lady With The Veil" by the Swedish artist Alexander Roslin from the year 1768. Alexander Roslin was one of the most used portrait painters of the 18th century.
