    Who was Arthur Bowen Davies?

    Arthur Bowen Davies (1862–1928) was an American artist and a central figure in the emergence of modern art in the United States. He was known for his dreamlike and symbolist landscapes, filled with floating figures and mystical moods that often balanced realism and fantasy. Davies was one of the organizers of the famous Armory Show of 1913, an exhibition that introduced modern European art to American audiences and revolutionized the art world in the United States.
