    Who was Odilon Redon?

    Odilon Redon, born 22 April 1840 in Bordeaux, France, died 6 July 1916 in Paris, France, was a French Symbolist artist. He is perhaps best known today for the dreamlike paintings created in the first decade of the 20th century, which were inspired by Japanese art and leaned toward abstraction. His work is considered a precursor to Surrealism.

    Product description

    Poster with the painting Armor by the French artist Odilon Redon from the year 1891. The motif shows a woman in black armor. Odilon's real name was Bertrand and he came from the city of Bordeaux in France. As an artist, he is known for his imaginative dreamscapes. His work has inspired several other artists, including Edvard Munch, Fernand Khnopff and Jan Toorop.
