Who was Howard Russell Butler?

Howard Russell Butler, born 3 March 1856 in New York, United States, died 20 May 1934 in New Jersey, United States, was an American painter and founder of the American Fine Arts Society. He is known particularly for paintings of seascapes and his views of the eclipse of the sun, but he also painted people and landscapes.
